Joffre Lakes Snowshoe Hike
Explore through soft powdery snow while taking in the striking natural views
Joffre Lakes becomes a paradise in the winter. Although the frozen lake hides the beautiful turquoise waters, Joffre takes on a more serene beauty. The low-sitting sun peeks through the snow-covered trees and reflects throughout the forest, creating a glowing ambiance.
The refreshing silence creates a calming, peaceful feeling throughout the forest. As you ascend, you can expect to see many small creeks and pillows of snow burying the boulder field below. Upon reaching the third lake, you will be rewarded with stunning, towering glaciers on the far side of the lake. Prepare for a good amount of incline, and ensure you bring extra layers for when the low-sitting sun slides behind the mountains.
